The Project Story
Our product development team was entrusted with creating a premium range of high-protein functional protein water beverages that combine refreshing hydration with meaningful nutrition. The objective was to formulate crystal-clear protein waters delivering 20 g of high-quality protein, zero sugar, low calories, and targeted functional benefits through differentiated variants such as Antioxidant, Reload, Defence, Everyday, Care, and Focus. Every formulation was optimized to deliver excellent taste, rapid absorption, and exceptional clarity without the heaviness typically associated with protein drinks, resulting in a modern, clean-label beverage portfolio for active lifestyles.
The Challenge
Developing a transparent protein water formulation required overcoming several technical hurdles. The formulation had to maintain protein stability while preventing haze, precipitation, and sedimentation throughout its shelf life. Achieving refreshing fruit flavours without protein off-notes, balancing acidity for microbiological safety, preserving heat-sensitive functional nutrients, and ensuring compatibility between vitamins, minerals, botanical ingredients, and protein sources demanded multiple formulation iterations. Additionally, maintaining clarity, low viscosity, and sensory appeal across multiple flavour variants presented significant R&D challenges.
