The Project Story
A wellness-focused nutrition brand partnered with our formulation scientists to develop a premium plant protein powder range that delivers exceptional nutrition without compromising on taste, texture, or digestibility. The objective was to create multiple consumer-friendly flavours—including Vanilla, Mango, Chocolate, and Dutch Chocolate—using clean-label, plant-based ingredients suitable for daily nutrition. The product was designed to offer high protein, low net carbs, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO positioning while ensuring excellent mixability and a smooth drinking experience. Through extensive formulation trials and ingredient optimisation, we developed a scalable protein blend that supports active lifestyles and modern wellness demands.
The Challenge
Developing a high-protein plant-based formulation with a creamy mouthfeel presented several formulation complexities. Balancing multiple plant protein sources while reducing grittiness, masking earthy off-notes, and maintaining flavour consistency across different variants required significant R&D optimisation. Additional challenges included achieving rapid dispersion, preventing sedimentation, maintaining nutritional integrity, and ensuring manufacturing stability without relying on unnecessary additives or artificial ingredients.
