The Project Story
With the growing demand for healthy, convenient, and nutrient-dense beverages, our client envisioned a range of Smoothie Premix Sachets that combine real fruit ingredients, functional nutrition, and exceptional taste in a single-serve format. The objective was to develop a premium instant smoothie solution that could be prepared within seconds by simply adding milk or water while delivering a fresh, creamy texture and balanced nutritional profile.
Adhrysa Lifescience designed and optimized a versatile smoothie premix platform featuring multiple flavour variants, including fruit-based, protein-enriched, oat-based, and superfood formulations. The development process involved careful ingredient selection, powder functionality optimization, flavour balancing, dissolution studies, and pilot-scale validation to ensure every sachet produced a smooth, consistent beverage with excellent consumer appeal. The result is a commercially scalable product line that offers convenience without compromising quality, nutrition, or sensory experience.
The Challenge
Developing an instant smoothie premix that replicates the taste and mouthfeel of freshly blended smoothies required extensive formulation research and process optimization. One of the primary challenges was achieving rapid dispersion and complete dissolution without lump formation while maintaining a naturally creamy texture.
Another critical challenge involved preserving the authentic flavour, colour, and aroma of fruit and botanical ingredients throughout manufacturing and storage. Ingredient compatibility studies were performed to prevent flavour degradation, moisture absorption, and powder caking while ensuring excellent shelf stability.
Balancing protein, fibre, superfoods, and fruit ingredients without creating gritty texture or sedimentation demanded multiple laboratory iterations. Pilot-scale trials focused on optimizing particle size, blending uniformity, flow characteristics, packaging compatibility, and preparation performance to deliver a premium smoothie experience across all flavour variants.
