The Project Story
Our client envisioned a premium range of naturally flavoured sparkling energy drinks that combined vibrant fruit profiles with functional wellness benefits while maintaining a clean-label positioning. The development focused on creating multiple refreshing variants including citrus, berry, botanical, and tropical combinations enriched with natural caffeine, fruit-derived ingredients, antioxidants, and essential B vitamins. Every formulation was engineered to deliver a crisp, refreshing drinking experience with excellent flavour balance, carbonation stability, and commercial scalability for modern functional beverage brands.
The Challenge
Developing a clean-label sparkling energy beverage required overcoming several formulation complexities. Balancing natural caffeine with delicate fruit flavours without introducing bitterness, maintaining carbonation throughout shelf life, preserving the colour and aroma of botanical extracts, and ensuring vitamin stability under varying storage conditions demanded extensive formulation optimisation. Achieving consistent mouthfeel, preventing ingredient interactions, and delivering multiple flavour variants with uniform quality while avoiding artificial colours and preservatives were key technical challenges throughout product development.
