The Project Story
Our client envisioned a premium prebiotic fiber supplement that would go beyond conventional digestive health products by combining scientifically selected prebiotic fibers with Slippery Elm Bark and 70+ trace minerals. The goal was to create a clean-label formulation that delivers comprehensive gut health support while offering a superior consumer experience through instant dissolution, neutral taste, and excellent mixability.

Our R&D team managed the complete product development lifecycle—from ingredient research and formulation optimization to laboratory validation, stability studies, pilot-scale manufacturing, and production-ready documentation. Every stage was carefully engineered to ensure efficacy, consistency, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing feasibility while meeting modern consumer expectations for clean, science-backed nutritional supplements.
The Challenge
Developing a high-performance prebiotic fiber formulation presented several formulation and processing challenges. Achieving rapid dispersion without compromising fiber functionality required extensive optimization of ingredient ratios and particle size. Incorporating botanical ingredients such as Slippery Elm Bark while maintaining a smooth mouthfeel and preventing sedimentation demanded multiple formulation iterations.
Another key challenge was ensuring compatibility between dietary fibers and the 70+ trace mineral blend without affecting stability, flow properties, or product appearance. Moisture sensitivity, powder flowability, blend uniformity, and long-term shelf stability also required careful evaluation to produce a formulation suitable for commercial manufacturing.
Additionally, the product had to remain gluten-free, dairy-free, and free from unnecessary additives, while maintaining consistent performance across laboratory, pilot, and production-scale batches.
