The Project Story
As consumers continue to move away from sugary soft drinks, our client partnered with Adhrysa Lifescience to develop a premium range of Flavoured Himalayan Water that delivers natural refreshment, clean-label ingredients, and exceptional taste without added sugar or unnecessary calories. The vision was to create a sophisticated hydration beverage that combines the purity of Himalayan water with delicate fruit flavours while preserving a crisp, refreshing drinking experience.
The product portfolio was developed across multiple refreshing variants including Lime, Strawberry, Lemon, and Blueberry, each carefully formulated to provide a light, natural flavour profile without overpowering the purity of the water. Adhrysa Lifescience managed the complete beverage development journey, including flavour system selection, mineral compatibility studies, sweetness optimization, shelf-life validation, packaging compatibility, and pilot-scale manufacturing, resulting in a premium hydration beverage ready for commercial production.
The Challenge
Developing a naturally flavoured water with an exceptionally clean taste required extensive formulation expertise. Unlike conventional soft drinks, flavoured water contains very few ingredients, meaning even minor formulation changes significantly influence flavour perception, aroma balance, and overall consumer acceptance.
One of the primary challenges was maintaining a crystal-clear beverage while ensuring natural fruit flavours remained stable throughout shelf life without sedimentation, haze formation, or flavour degradation. Extensive compatibility studies were conducted between mineral-rich water, natural flavour compounds, acidity regulators, and preservative systems to achieve long-term product stability.
Each flavour profile demanded individual optimization to deliver a refreshing sensory experience while avoiding excessive sweetness, bitterness, or artificial aftertaste. Packaging interaction studies, accelerated stability testing, and process validation were also carried out to ensure consistent product quality during commercial manufacturing, transportation, and retail storage.
